Point Loma Actors 2nd Annual “Theatre on the Point”
The Point Loma Actors are at it again, and this time they are bringing the classic French playwright Moliere’s “The Forced Marriage” to Ocean beach on Sep. 5th and 6th!
The free performances start at 6pm and will be staged at the Rec Center park at the corner of Ebers and Saratoga. The play is directed by Hannah Ryan who has been with the troop since 2007 and is building quite a repertoie locally having directed or instructed A Midsummer Night’s Dream on the green, Only in New York, Greater Tuna, Polish Joke and Food for Thought, to name a few.
The performance is expected to last about an hour and stars Eva Risman, Ron Kubicek, Nikita Atrash, Calvin Michaels, G Lorenzo Crosby, Rachel Bray, John Lee, David Billot, Aaron Hatch, Samantha Goldstein and Duke Pekin.
So come on out this Saturday and/or Sunday and support your local actors. bring friends, family and enjoy the beautiful scenery with theatre in the park!
Point Loma Actors Workshop is a performance based acting company focused on the development of the individual actor. Beginners are encouraged to attend.

This is gonna be cool. What a great place we live in that we have theatre in the park! Let’s try to get a lot of people out to support them. This type of theatre is often a thankless labor of love. A lot of hard work goes into it. Bravo to the Point Loma Actors!
In ’85, I spent the summer studying and working in Dublin. There was a theatre around every corner from 10 seats to 500, from one man shows(sorry, ladies) to multiple cast production. By far my favorite, was the Shakespeare festival on St. Stephens Green…and it was outside and free.
The reason the art of the play has survived so long in Ireland is in part due to support by the people. Let’s hope we can have something similar grow here in OB. It is short notice, but I will try to make this performance.
