Here’s the scoop on the film crew that’s been seen around OB lately. They are shooting for an upcoming pilot for an hour long comedic private-eye show.

The project, from Fox21, centers on two PI partners with maturity issues who solve crimes while trying to avoid danger and responsibility.

On June 09, 2009 the filming network gave a green light to “Terriers,” a show from “The Shield” creator Ryan and “Ocean’s Eleven” writer Ted Griffin. The idea came from Griffin, a “Shield” fan who penned an episode of the gritty FX cop drama.

OBviously, with fake Ocean Beach police cars and police department, the pilot pushes the edge of police-community relations to new highs.

As a 12-year former resident of OB, I am so thrilled to get my fix of the old neighborhood on the show. Familiar scenes and locales are therapeutic to someone who so misses the kick-back friendly atmosphere. I do sympathize with the locals who are forced to put up with the traffic and disruption of typical OB life; so I might not be so excited were I still there. But for one hour on Wednesday, I am transported back to a wonderful time in my life. For that, I have the friendly people and local merchants of OB to thank.

Hi,
Love Terriers. It’s fun to see some of the old sights of OB, as I’m now transplanted to Maine. But “Terriers?” Obtians would have made as much sense. I hope the show takes off. It’s zany and fun to watch. How’s everyone in OB? See y’all in a couple of months. Time to get my OB fix. How’s The Black these days? Love OB and Sunset Cliffs. Peace out.
Cheers, Alix

My husband and I have watched this series since it came out every Wednesday night on our Channel 248 Fox at 10 p.m. We have taped alot of the series since we can’t seem to sit up that late. My questions are these:
1) Was “Hail Mary” viewed on 12/01, the last show in this series?
2) Is there a DVD that can be purchased of this series? I could watch it over and over again!
In hopes to hear from you guys real soon!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Billie

No doubt Netflix no doubt will be busy mailing out the first and only season of Terriers at some point in the future. FX really dropped the big egg on this show. What a shame, what a waste of excellent talent. Logue was amazing, as were his co-stars. This show will be missed. I urge people to write to FX and comment on its horrendous lack of a marketing plan and vision for a show that will no doubt shape itself into a cult classic. From what I can gather, the show was on a tight budget, but that’s all I know from folk who still are in the area.

I think it is awful that they are dropping this show. There is no shortage of garbage tv, cometition tv shows or crime shows. The biggest flaw I have found with Terriers is in it being promoted poorly. It isn’t the stars of the show, nor is it the name. I see plenty shows take off that don’t have to have the shows description in the title and a plethora of shows start off with little known actors. The problem I found is nobody I know had ever heard of the show. I caught wind of it because my husband who is an entertainment addict read an article in the USA today and knew OB was one of my very favorite places. If it hadn’t been for his seeing the article, I probably would never have watched it. The actors are extremely talented and really captured the true essence of OB. I prey another network will be smart enough to pick it up. Seeing how TX really blew the handling. If someone else picks it up and puts commercials out letting people know, it is sure to be a hit. Look at shows like CSI. I think I saw a commercial for that at least 3 or 4 time a night before it was released. This show was doomed from the beginning due to it being all but a secret.

I agree Kerry! This was like watching “Dallas” to me! It always left you intrigued to find out what those two would be up to next. Stellar actors and actresses! I wish the series could go on and on.

Wow! Thanks for the ‘green flash’ photo. I watched hundreds of sunsets either from the end of Saratoga, from LJ or Mission, and Never have I had the luck to catch the green flash! Thank you Jim Grant for that amazing photo, and for sharing it with us!

I found it online. I used the theme song to make my slide show of some of my favorite OB photos I took when I go out there. I have it on my YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/kerraboo2 I have the name of the group somewhere on my computer.. I could look it up for you, if you want.

The name of the song is “Gunfight Epiphany” by Robert Duncan. I’m from the east coast, but I have been watching this show since I downloaded it from iTunes. However, it makes me wish I lived out there! And I truly wish someone would revive this great show. I find a lot of internet chatter about how it’s truly appreciated over the network drivel.
