The good news is the Pretenders scored 15 runs on 19 hits, and scored in each inning we played (5). See the attached scorebook for details, as Phil, Denny, John, Jeremy, Kevin , and Robb (taking a walk too) continued their batting prowess. Check out the On Base Average as well as the batting avergages.

The bad news is the other team called in the score, as we had our first loss, 17 -15, with Tilted Sticks scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the last inning, with a “walk-off” home run scoring three (Officially it will be 16-15).

As I viewed the scorebook, in my memory, we witnessed a “first” in our 14 year..28 season history..i.e… both teams scored in every inning. Anyone remember that ever happening?

The Pretenders remain in first place with a 3-1-1 record.

Steve pitched his usual good game, but didn’t receive the usual defensive support to which we have become accustomed, with several players out of their normal positions.

Great to have Tony back in the fold. In his third AB, he clobbered a long hit to right field destined for a home run …..but….the right-center fielder make a spectacular diving back-to-the-plate over-the-head catch behind the right-fielder, one of the best we’ve ever seen at Robb.

Looking ahead, we begin the second round of playing each team twice in the 10 game season.

Next game: Friday, April 24th, at 7:30 pm as home team against Top Dogs.

Here is the scorebook:
