in OB Flashes!, Ocean Beach

Are you an OBcean with services or products you’d like to offer your fellow residents – and you don’t represent a big corporation or business? Is there a community event coming up that you know about? Or you might want to share the success of one that has already happened. Is there a local group or individual that deserve some props? Perhaps an issue that you just want to bring to light? Let us know, if it interests you it will interest others.

To post your OB Flash all you have to do is leave a comment. If you have never left a comment on the OB Rag before (or if you leave one that contains more than one link) your comment will go into our moderation queue and we will approve it as soon as possible. Be patient with us though, we are few and sometimes far between…. Usually, once your first comment has been approved you may post comments instantly. So come on, you know you want to… Flash us!

We will change the OB Flashes at the beginning of each week.

Peace signs on every house. Hey – do you have a home-made peace sign in your window or on your roof, or anything similar that you display? Send a photo to us and we’ll publish it in an upcoming series of pictures of peace signs of OB. Send it to us via email if you can. obragblog@gmail.com

Thanks for all the birthday wishes last week! I had a wonderful day, surrounded by family, friends new and old, food (we’re still eating cake), spirits and laughter. Frank threw me a great party Friday night and I spent the day Saturday lounging in my robe until we went out for some dinner Saturday night. Aaaaaaaahhhhh, that’s what I call a treat!

Just wondering, if one posts something here, say on Sat, it means it will appear only one day, or even less? Is there anyplace to check old announcements? thanks

Genie – good question. Each week we’ll post a new OB Flashes. And during that week we’ll keep it ‘afloat’ for the entire week, so any comments will stay very visible for that week. Plus we’ll keep the “old” OB Flashes, they will just be down the scroll.

I love the idea of Peace Signs on every house. Back in the days when the RAG was “printed”, there was a “green O.B” inserted in an issue, and people hung it in their window! Amazing what people “together” can accomplish. Please don’t make me say “Yes we can”! ha ha …peace, Genie

After that, he will talk about his return to the Point in 1990 to the historical archaeology project out on Ballast Point. Included in his presentation is the history, with photos , of how the Spanish fort, whaling station, and Chinese fishing camp appeared out on Ballast Point.
The Ocean Beach Historical Society is very excited about having Ron present to our group. Please join us on Thurs., Feb. 19th at 7 PM at the PL United Methodist Church, 1984 Sunset Cliffs Blvd. in OB.

OB RAG blog just had our best day ever since we hoisted our logo onto the internet on Oct 25, 2007!

Yesterday February 19, we had by the end of the day 1,136 page hits and 542 unique visitors for that 24 hour period. This is great. Thanks OB for helping us reach this pinnacle.
