Stories from People, Not Numbers

As California has come face to face with a gaping budget deficit that now tops $15.2 billion, its citizens have been confronted with a number of stark human statistics-from the number of teachers finding pink slips in the mailbox to the number of children who soon will be turned away by their doctors.

These are the stories behind those numbers. MyCAStory.org is an account of everyday Californians struggling to raise families, survive and succeed despite the looming threat of state budget cuts to the programs and services on which they rely.
