OCEAN BEACH, CA. The OB Rag announces that it has scanned in two more, complete issues of the former OB Rag, the underground” newspaper that flourished in Ocean Beach in the early, mid seventies. Volume 1, numbers 13 and 16 have now been archived, and now join the growing volumes of the old Rag available on this blog. For Vol. 1, No. 13 go here, and Vol. 1, No. 16, here.
OB Rag Fund Raising Nears $500 !
STOP THE PRESSES ! THIS JUST IN: Current OB Rag fund raising is nearing five hundred dollars in donations and pledges. Wow! That’s right – this current OB Rag – this blog- is currently doing fund raising and we’re doing this noble task by offering many of the old OB Rags up for donations. Original copies of the fabled Ocean Beach community newspaper, radical and raw, now can be in your hands. If you buy now, you can help send me on a cruise to Hawaii – yeah, I wish! We have expenses – we’re buying a new large scanner to enable us to scan all the original Rags without the efforts we now make. Also on our wish list is a better camera. We also need a larger computer. Here’s your chance to help us out.

I may be a bit slow, and Momma says I don’t read so good (I am from East County and all), but I don’t see where to send money…and if I want to donate, but more because I want to see more issues scanned and online than because I have somewhere appropriate to put an original hard copy (downsizing 60%+ when I move back to town next month), is that cool?
Redneck – if you would like to order a particular issue of the OB Rag, look through those that are available. Each one is priced for a suggested donation amount, plus $2 for handling and postage. Simply send us your order via the “contact” page above, and they we’ll send you the address where to send the money order or check.
We just bought a large scanner and we will be scanning in all the Rags.
