The California Coastal Commission has rejected a proposal to extend an Orange County toll road into San Diego County, bisecting San Onofre State Park. For more , go here.
The California Coastal Commission held a hearing on the Trestles toll road on Wednesday, Feb. 6th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The hearing was being held before a packed audience of thousands, both pro and con. The proposed toll road would be built next to and endanger the famous Trestles surfing spot in the San Onofre State Park as well as a beautiful valley, and other sections of a nearby camping park. Wow, guys! I saw where you scooped the U-T on this timely issue.
We can breath easy for a moment, but the proponents of this project will be back – they are going to appeal this decision, and you can bet they have the money to gladly fund that effort.
