Blog fund-raising efforts lag due to Electioneering
SAN DIEGO, CA. This morning, after coffee, OB Rag editors severely criticized local political candidates for monopolizing fund-raising. “‘We can’t raise any bread because the candidates took it all, ” one blog reporter said anonymously. The blog, the newest political media project in San Diego, has been attempting to raise money for its expenses, like a new large scanner, a new camera, and a new computer.
“Look, we’ve offered to sell many of the old, original OB Rags, and we had a few bites – but in the main, our readership has been pouring its thousands into the campaigns of Michael Aguirre, Mayor Jerry Sanders, Floyd Morrow, Eric Bidwell, Scott Peters, Rudy Reyes …” one editor explained, his voice trailing off in a kind of despair. “But, ” he added, brightening up, “we just got a new, awesome scanner, so now we can scan all those large OB Rag pages without having to patch them together.”
Another editor summed it up: “If our dedicated readers don’t step up, – and step up soon – and help us with these expenses, who knows what will happen.” Taking another sip of home-brewed, strong java, the editor continued, “We’re offering the real deal – the original OB Rags – people can have these time-honored underground newspapers just for a few dollars in donations. It’s quite an excellent trade.”
Go here, dear readers, to see what old OB Rags are available for donations to the blog.
