A special meeting has been called by OB planners to finalize their preparations for the California Coastal Commission hearing on the OB Community Plan Update.
The special OB meeting is scheduled for 6 pm Wednesday, August 12 at the Dog Beach Dog Wash community room, 4943 Voltaire Street. The Commission will hear the OB Plan sometime during Thursday, August 13.
Volunteer leaders from the OB Community Plan Update sub-committee along with the leadership of the current OB Planning Board joined in calling the meeting.
City planning staff were absent at the most recent OB Planning Board meeting, and a list of questions for staff was circulated during the meeting – to be raised at a special meeting as well. It is unclear at this point whether city staff will be present at the special meeting scheduled at the Dog Beach Dog Wash.
At any rate, the special meeting will give local planners and supporters a last opportunity prior to the Commission hearing to divide up tasks, to answer questions, and to ensure key issues are covered during presentations.
People who have been involved in the over-year long process to have the OB Plan Update finalized and approved by all levels of government are encouraged to attend this meeting. Anyone with questions or who is very interested in what happens on Thursday is likewise encouraged to be part of this process.
In a sign of solidarity, the OB Town Council has leased a bus to transport OBceans from OB to the Commission hearing being held in Chula Vista.
