Yes, it’s true! The OB Rag has a new desk located in OB at The Green Store, 4843 Voltaire, Suite B, Ocean Beach, 92107.
In the past year or so, OB RAG readership has quadrupled with some months to over 100,000 hits per month! With OB RAG expanding, and the introduction of our online sister publication, San Diego Free Press, we feel the time is ripe to expand our physical presence, too. An OB RAG volunteer will be available between 12 and 2PM, and again between 4 and 6PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
What better partner for OB RAG than The Green Store?
If you’ve never checked out The Green Store you’re really in for a treat! They’ve recently moved to a new location on the south side of Voltaire, halfway between Sunset Cliffs Blvd and Cable Street. The Green Store has been called “The Conscience of OB”, evidenced by their recent Grand Re-Opening event held on July 14th, 2012 when The Green Store celebrated their new location and “23 years of providing peace, social justice and environmental information” to our progressive OB community. Most noted for their extensive lending library of hard to find alternative press magazines, books, and DVDs, The Green Store also has information and hand-outs on local and national organizations involved in the environmental, peace and social justice movements. Archived and current material on Ocean Beach and its various organizations and movements is also available.
With an outrageous selection of bumper stickers and buttons to announce your BEST intentions to the world, the Green Store is now twice as big as the prior location, and they’ll be hosting a variety of upcoming workshops, including: Rain Water Collection, Goddess Empowerment Circle, Environmental Recycling Workshops for Kids, Paper Making and Earth Conscious Crafts, Community Weaving & Community Building, Entrepreneurship and Small Businesses Workshop, Resume Writing, and Introduction to Motivational Interviewing for Mentors and Community Leaders.
Many, many more workshops and events are being planned which augment their growing collection of retail items which include T-shirts, hand-made Jewelry, art, photographs, posters and other crafts – and all are for sale and offered by local green artists.

so happy to hear that the Green Store did not have to close ~ I have stopped in there many times and always found good company, great info, and some very cool stickers. glad to see you guys found a desk too!
