ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Robert Daniel Webb robbed a convenience store Tuesday, March 31st, in Ellensburg, 95 miles southeast of Seattle. What makes this robbery different is that Webb had his nine-year-old daughter by his side when he took his gun out.
Caught on the store surveillance video, Webb points the gun at the clerk and says: “Open the till and got me what you have … I’m out of work. My daughter’s got to survive.” He made off with about $200.00.
Webb apparently has been unemployed for months.
Since then, Meadow, the daughter, was taken into protective custody April 1 in the small town of Fortuna, Calif. The dad is still out there. Police in Fortuna say Webb stopped Wednesday night at the home of an acquaintance who happens to be the father of a Humboldt County sheriff’s deputy.

I drove through Ellensburg, WA one time. It is a beautiful little tourist trap and very expensive. There isn’t much to do except ski.
in desperate times, desperate people do desperate things.
Despite that I am a lawyer, this story brought a tear to my eye, because I’m also a father.
Yes Frank, but you would need the $200 for your electric bill.
Darn. I saw there were some new comments up and was so excited! Then I realized it was a troll. booo……
jon, Shawn is NOT a troll, despite what he says. He’s a sometimes funny, totally irreverent comedian masquerading as a OBcean. And he’s missed, at times, when we’re bored.
For a follow-up: the U-T reported this morn that Webb had been arrested by Yakipa police.
If you have to do it, you might as well do it right
