Drum Circle

Join a myriad of progressive groups downtown today, the 10th of December, for actions as part of the National Day of Action for Human Rights. There will be a 4:00 pm rally at Civic Center, (1100 3rd Ave and B Street) – also called “Freedom Square”, followed by a march through the Gaslamp, and a Drum Circle back at the Plaza.

Congress woman Susan Davis and Roshi Seisen Saunders, a Zen Buddhist teacher and priest will welcome people. All cause and groups are encouraged to bring tables and literature so we can share our passions, and  are encouraged to set up a little table to share their individual cause so we can mobilize in our efforts toward a better world! We hope to re-invigorate the idea of the center of town being the public square of democracy.  People are welcome to speak about their causes at this time..open mike!

We are planning on having a giant drum circle as well and welcome any music for the movement so bring your instruments , your voices and your signs!

Occupy, MoveOn, Animal Protection & Rescue League, Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, Veterans for Peace, People for Social Sustainability, many local unions, the Unitarian church, the Sweetwater Zen center, Canvass for a Cause, Green Peace, LGBT, Becky’s House and other women’s rights groups and San Diego Coalition for Peace and others will be joining the rally.

Followed by a drum circle so bring drum or bucket
