Demonstrators gather at Civic Center Plaza Tuesday to protest a federal crackdown on medical marijuana stores.

Protesters took to the streets Tuesday to oppose a federal crackdown on medical marijuana dispensaries.   Later in the day the city announced a Superior Court judge issued a ruling on Monday that the stores are prohibited by the municipal code in San Diego — a ruling similar to one he made last week.

Approximately 250 protesters marched from City Hall to the federal courthouse to voice their opposition to recent actions by U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy.  The federal prosecutor mailed out hundreds of letters on Oct. 7 to operators of marijuana collectives and their landlords telling them they must shut down within 45 days or risk criminal prosecution and property seizures.

Other U.S. attorneys have sent similar letters to dispensaries across California. They have reminded the public that even though Californians voted in 1996 to allow marijuana for medicinal use, the drug is still illegal under federal law.   Protesters said the forced closure of the dispensaries is going to scare off some of the people who need medical marijuana the most.

Jesus said to do unto others as we would have them to do unto us. None of us would want our child thrown in jail with the sexual predators over marijuana. None of us would want to see an older family member’s home confiscated and sold by the police for growing a couple of marijuana plants for their aches and pains. It’s time to stop putting our own family members in jail over marijuana.
If ordinary Americans could grow a little marijuana in their own back yards, it would be about as valuable as home-grown tomatoes. Let’s put the criminals out of business and get them out of our neighborhoods. Let’s let ordinary Americans grow a little marijuana in their own back yards.
You can email your Congressperson and Senators at http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml to discuss HR 2306, the bill that would repeal Federal prohibition.
And a big THANK YOU to the courageous, freedom loving legislators, governors, and countless others who are working so hard to bring this through! You’re doing a great patriotic service for all of America!

Here’s one way that IT IS REALLY WORKING: Arresting the criminals and collecting a fee from registered growers (and bringing in thousands of dollars to support the county budget); what a great plan! This is the way to build a better America! http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/2011/07/the-pot-republic-one-sheriffs-quietly-radical-experiment.html

News Flash. Jesus grows his own weed. No more turning water in to wine, that is so year 33 or so. Now using water for weed , recommending “hydroponics”. As he took the packed bong with JC weed and took in a big hit , as he coughed on the expansion he said ” i got the munchies, hey everyone eat me”.

Like the South and it’s struggle against equality in the post-Civil War era, these blowhards will eat their words as history turns the tide in favor of legalization. Funny that this coincides with Gallup producing the first-ever poll showing a full 50% of Americans support legalizing marijuana! Nice to know I can still buy from a dealer in the meantime, and there is always growing your own, but only IF you are able to pull it off…File the anti-pot crowd under “judgmental movements”, including anti-gay, anti-black, anti-immigrant, anti-choice, and every other “anti-” movement that seeks to deprive rights for no basis other than to satisfy entrenched interests and force one morality on all of us

The end of federal prohibition is right around the corner. We just need your voice and every other person that cares about these civil liberties to speak up. NOW is the time. Tell the federal government to leave the decisions up to the states. They will listen or be replaced.
Tell your representatives: http://pvox.co/CdiFqY
Tell the Obama administration: http://wh.gov/gDQ
