in Organizing, San Diego

We just spoke to a member of Occupy San Diego at Civic Center Plaza, and they gave us the following schedule of fun and games for protesters today, Saturday, October 15th – all decided by the most recent General Assembly.

9:30 am – Logistics meeting at the Plaza

11:00 am – Some in Plaza will proceed to the Peace Rally at 6th and Grape.

11 – 12 noon – Peace activists will be bannering above I-5

1:00 pm – Occupy San Diego will march through Balboa Park to the World Beat Center along Park Blvd.

The World Beat Center and the Centro de la Raza are opening part of their facilities (restrooms) to Occupy San Diego. And this will be the site of our encampment tonight.

~ 2:00 pm – Occupy San Diego will then march to Civic Center Plaza along Park Boulevard and “B” Street, past the banks.

~ 3:00 pm – Rally at Civic Center Plaza

~ 4:00 pm – March starts which will end up back at the World Beat Center.

(This is the most recent schedule, which of course is subject to some change, but this is the basic framework.)

Today is the Global Day of Action! United for Global Change–951 cities 82 countries http://15october.net/

First thing to do is to Take Part in the Union-Tribune “Tell Us About It”survey. Call 619-293-2506 and press 1 for “Yes, I support the Occupy effort.”

Quote of the Day: “Assistant Police Chief Boyd Long said officers used pepper spray for the safety of both the officers and the protesters.” See full article, “One tent allowed to stand as Occupy SD emblem,”

Yesterday morning, before the video above was shot, San Diego Police Chief William Lansdowne was caught on this candid video saying, “I’ll-tell-ya-what, back in the 60’s we’d-a-gone wading into that with sticks and clubs, uh huh yeah, that’s exactly what would’a happen… Yeah, well, this is a new world…”

That’s right Chief, one where karma is on the OBRag, Social Media & YouTube!

OccupyWallStreet! OccupySanDiego! if we OccupyTogether! we’ll OccupyItAll! We are the 99%! We are the 99%! We are the 99%!

Awesome video of Lansdowne saying that in the 60s the cops would have gone in there swinging their batons. “It’s a new world,” the Chief concludes.

Some one forgot to ask the “Chief” what wading in ended up developing into. We stopped their chicken shit OB plan cold. But as we are older and wiser now, we will just let our video cameras do the hard work for us. Keep the cameras rolling. It all adds up.

You may want to find a new source for schedule info. A lot of bad/wrong information in this article.

This was the best info we had at the time. Things change with this fluid movement. We apologize if you relied on this schedule and got lost. There was a peace rally at Grape and 6th, and then a march to the Civic Center Plaza for another rally.
