Hey Protesters, Occupy This! (a fun look at Tea Party responses to Occupy Wall Street)

For the past 6 months I’ve been a subscriber to “The Tea Party Nation” web site to learn more about my fellow citizens. (I have masochistic tendencies.)   Below are some outtakes of the Occupy Wall Street related articles and comments that recently appeared on the “The Tea Party Nation” site.

Unemployed Imbeciles Gather to Proest Wall Street (sic)

I swear this is the title of an article written by Alan Caruba posted on Oct 4th.   Damn those proesters!

I had no idea why they were protesting except for the fact that they were mostly young, mostly unemployed, and mostly led by the usual demonic Communists that have a beef with American exceptionalism.

 No beef, they’re vegans.

Occasionally Leftist celebrities show up and shake hands with “the people” to give them a thrill.

It’s no thrill to shake Michael Moore’s clammy hands.

The following are comments to the article accompanied by my thoughts:

My daughter saw ads online a few months ago to HIRE protestors for this thing- I think they paid fifteen dollars an hour – wonder if she remembers where the site is – George Soros probably paid for a lot of them – Gail Cohen

Hey Gail, did your daughter find that ad yet? Sounds like easy money, plus the Koch Brothers are only paying minimum wage.

Any time you hear the words, “Social” and “Justice”, Look Out !!! It’s the fascists marxists at work !! -Anne

Fascist Marxist? Didn’t they play each other in the 1936 Spanish World Series?

And mommy and daddy are sitting home waiting for them like their parents did for them 50 years ago while they were out changing the world by smoking pot, having non-stop sex and whooping it up at Woodstock. -Larry Cumbie.

The only thing missing is the music festival as in Woodstock. People seem to be keeping their clothes and not smoking as much weed. Looks like a big party to me…… – Vivian Hackler

Oh, how I miss the 60’s.

The next article was a list of thirteen demands supposedly made by Occupy Wall Street to President Obama.

Occupy Wall Street Demands Mirror Democrat Party Platform?

The first problem with this article is it that is based on a report by The Washington Times and Fox News. Hardly reliable sources. The so-called “Occupy Wall Street Demands” were taken from one individuals (probably a Fascist Marxist) forum post and represented as the official demands. Of course this report spread like wildfire among right-wing blogosphere.

 Comments:

Well, Soros is well on his way to finally destroying our country. I recommend shipping these stupid kids off to Cuba and Zimbabwe. – Roni Smith

Hey kids, looks like Spring Break in Havana and it’s on Uncle George!

We can’t let this take hold in our country. These are primarily young males who subscribe to anything goes anarchy. I wish there was a way to contact their parents and let them know that their children are attempting to bit off the hand that fed them all the years of their young lifes. I bet their Momma’s would be proud. – Kathleen Gose

New Bumper Sticker: “My Child was Anarchist of the Month at Occupy Wall Street.”

But then . . . . there’s little difference between the Communist Manifesto and the new Democratic/Progressive Far Left. – Ray Knoch

Almost Ray, the Communist Manifesto was a book written in German and the new Democratic/Progressive Far Left are a bunch pot-smoking, flag-hatin’, sexually perverted dirty hippies who like the occasional German beer.

I have a list of demands that consists of one item: morons should never be allowed to vote. – Gerald Smith

Oh Gerald, if it was only possible.

Occupy Wall Street is the people calling for reform of policies favoring Corporate America. Conservatives are not American. Tea Partiers need to read their history books and look up Metternich, the father of the conservative movement. They should next move onto Thomas Powers, The Killing of Crazy Horse & Blood and Thunder by Hampton Sides. Throw in some Upton Sinclair and Sinclair Lewis. Calling the protesters names smacks of the Vietnam era, or maybe the Bush era. Remember you’re either for us or against? Well obviously the Bush’s & the Supreme Court are sold out to Corporate interests while the rest of us carry the costs. No education, or health care…but always money for cops, prisons & illegal wars.

It’s kind of ironic, isn’t it? Laughing at the tea party for disparaging the occupy wall street crowd, while that same crowd disparages them as racists and fascists. Glorious.

I kinda’ get ya O’ Bearded One.
What I find amusing (in a scary kind of way) is the blanket use of political labels (Communist, Socialist, Marxist, Fascist, Anarchist) by many in the Tea Party to anyone left of Hank William Jr.
Yet I take offense to those few on the left who label all Tea Party members racists and/or Fascist. To be sure there are racist and/or Fascist among their numbers (as there are probably a small contingent of Communist, Socialist, Anarchist…etc among the Occupy movement).
What I have found is that many in the Tea Party use “negative” political labels as part of their rhetoric. It’s an easy way ( a cop-out) to illicit an emotional response (especially among us baby boomers who grew up fearing the Red Menace).
What I also find amusing is that their are so many people who really don’t understand what these labels mean. I’m no political scientist, but I know that calling someone a Fascist Marxist would make Generalísimo Francisco Franco roll over in his grave *.

I hate finding typos after I submit a comment. It’s 4:00 in the morning and my editor is sleeping. Wish there was a way to edit.
Hank Williams Jr.
I also find amusing is that there are so many people

Racist? I personally find the Obama-in-whiteface-clown-makeup racist, as with all of their signs subbing in K’s for words that begin with ‘c,’ a well-know Klan practice. Just my take, though, but I stand by the assertion that these examples ARE racist.

Fascist? I can kind of see the irony there, as I think Obama’s health care plan (which was passed despite the absence of a public option) that forces citizens to purchase an insurance product from a private company against their will reeks of fascism. I’m sure I’ll get plenty of argument on that point…

If someone disparages anarchism, they probably aren’t real Tea Party.

Thanks for the laughs, Mike – awesome post! How are you going to spend your money from Soros? I’m going to buy as many copies of the Communist Manifesto as I can!

Great piece, Mike!

Does anyone know how I can get on the payroll of Soros (or anyone else) who’s paying $15/hr. to join Occupy? I’m willing to work for that wage around the clock with no overtime! In reality I’ve made a little more from covering the movement than what I’ve spent in gas, coffee, and energy drinks while reporting and volunteering…and I’m way ahead of most participants in that regard.

IT seems to me that the tea party should change it name to “my way, or the hwy”
Then we can give them the hwy. with all the pot holes..it’s yours.. take it…
