San Diego City Council Voted 5 to 3 to Send Miramar Landfill Out to Bid

This afternoon, after two hours of public testimony and debate, the San Diego City Council voted to send the Miramar Landfill out to bid for its operation.  On a close 5 to 3 vote, the Council decided to begin the formal process of privatizing the landfill.

Councilmembers Lighter, Faulconer, DeMaio, Zapf and Young voted as the majority.  Those opposed were Todd Gloria, David Alvarez, and Marti Emerald.

Well good now maybe if a private company takes over they will keep the lead from going into the landfill. The City could not do it .

They build it with public money and then turn it over to their criminal friends. Every penny of profit from this will be no different than any other theft. Put these thieves in prison where they belong.
