District 1 — Nancy Taylor (incumbent), Tom Gawronski
District 2 — Scott Waschitz (incumbent)
District 3 — No candidate
District 4 — Craig Klein (incumbent)
District 5 — Brittany Taylor
District 6 — Jane Gawronski (incumbent)
District 7 — No candidate

Please bring the following in order to qualify to vote:
1) A valid form of picture identification.
2) Proof of one of the following —
a) Residency — Either on your picture identification or with a recent utility bill showing your name and address
b) Property Ownership — Tax forms or other legal form indicating possession of property with name and address
c) Business Ownership — Business license, tax form, state form showing corresponding name with buisness and physical address of business. Note: business cards are NOT accepted as proof of business.

How fitting. District 7…the loudest in the opposition for the move of the VFW Post doesn’t even have a representative running. I guess they chose their OBPB rep — Mr. Zuchette and Faulconer… That is funny though, I’ve never heard of them attending a meeting. Don’t think they have to. They send their lawyers and their money – right…. ha ha…. Democracy in action INDEED.
Interesting competion in District 1. Tom Gawronski recently served a full 8 year term and was required by the bylaws to sit out a year before running again. He must own property in that District to be running. His wife is running in the District where they live, they used to both serve in District 6 (south-ish OB).
We’ll see who can get out the votes on that campaign today.
I’ve read a lot of complaining about the lack of involvement from the community re: The Planning Board so I was going to be a responsible citizen and make sure that I voted. But I think I’ll skip it since there is only one candidate in my district it seems sort of silly.
Not silly. Just three years ago. One of the currently serving elected on this committee ran for election, did not go down and vote for himself, and no one else did either.
It’s unfortunate that there isn’t more interest in the community to serve, but to take the position of apathy for apathy’s sake is simply giving up.
Sarah – Why don’t you go down, see what is going on, cast your vote… nothing says you have to vote for the person who is the candidate in your district. Write yourself into the vote — even if it isn’t legal.
We have to remind these exalted elected that WE ARE WATCHING!
Heck. Bring a group of friends down there…. get more votes than the person running and then we will protest the election results….even if it isn’t legal to write-in at the election.
That would be better than NOT voting and NOT caring.
Ok….I”m off my soapbox for now. Except for District 7 – who clearly doesn’t deserve a representative.
This is the place for me to relate my experience getting elected to the Board of Directors of the Inbetween. We(don’t know how to make paragraphs yet) were electing the Board and all the so called Cool Clique nominated all the people they wanted and some guy nominated me.To my consternation my wife seconded this move. The so called cool set all voted for thier main squeezes (2 votes each). Well, I got 3 votes ,mine my wifes and the guy who nominated me.Thus giving me the seat designated for one of the local kids. So I suggest some of you show up and nominate who you want to serve.I’m sure the are provisions for a move like this in your by-laws.Give it a try,you never know it might work.

As a result of the 2011 Ocean Beach Planning Board Elections held on 14 March 2011, the following persons are declared the winners.
District 1 – Tom Gawronski
District 2 – Scott Waschitz
District 4 – Craig Klein
District 5 – Brittany Taylor
District 6 – Jane Gawronski
These results are declared as unofficial until certified by the Ocean Beach Planning Board at the next regularly scheduled meeting in April 2011. The Elections committee will provide a full report at the 6 April 2011 meeting at 6pm at the OB Rec Center.
District Seats in 3 and 7 are reported as vacant as no candidate declared in those Districts.
