This anti-gay graffiti was spotted very recently ago in the alley near Guizot Street between Saratoga and Santa Monica Avenues in Ocean Beach.
Please, the community is asking someone to paint it out. For Christmas sake, or for the sake of the holidays, or for some reason during the season that we celebrate peace, harmony, “good will to all men”, to all women, to all humanity. PAINT IT OUT FOR CHRISTS’ SAKE!
Please. And when you do, send us a photo – will ya?

We admit there are some confusing aspects of this set of graffiti. First, it appears to be at least two different jobs. Someone wrote the “f-word” twice, and it seems someone else wrote the bisexual part. Was that a response? Was the “rashta” reference an earlier paint job?
just when i thought it was safe to come back on land, something like this happens. c’mon you landlubbers, get it together.
Isn’t this garbage one reason why we have the ACLU? Do they not defend our freedom of speach, shouted, written or spoken, so that anyone can hate freely in the USA? I therefore defend my right to say to the authors of this trash, have the balls to sign your names to it. I dare you. Your addresses wouldn’t hurt either…Lets do lunch.
How do we know the author of the graffiti in question isn’t pro gay? Maybe he’s just showing his enthusiasm.
I am not sure it is anti gay graffiti They do use the word “fag” and I guess some gay folks don’t like the word. But bisexual isn’t anti anything it is just a word.
I do agree with painting it out It is pretty ugly.
Could the painter be referring to cigarettes when he says fag. It is a slang term for cigarettes in the kings English. Just a thought
Well, my first thought is why don’t the people that live in this area take care of their neighborhood? Maybe they painted the wall and like the signage? Maybe they are away for the holidays and do not know it exits? Maybe they are just to damn lazy to get off their butt?
Can anybody really go and paint someone else’s fence if there is graffiti on it? If so, and there is anyone else out there that wants to do it, and has paint I will be happy to help on Sunday. Just make a post here …..and we go from there.
Why don’t YOU paint it out?!!
Me? I guess my first response to you is ’cause I don’t even live in that area! But Dan Shay, if YOU think it’s so important for ME to paint over the grafitti and take care of someone else’s dirty work in someone else’s neighborhood then….get the paint and I will join YOU there and WE will work together on removing the graffiti.
“Actions speak louder than words” my friend. I am not the one complaining about it and asking other people to fix it.

nuetral english
not anti
board kids
who need a board
The repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” is a significant advancement in gay rights in the US. As with any progressive civil rights legislation, it will bring haters crawling out of the woodwork. We have to expect this sort of thing when so many church and government leaders have made their opposition to gay rights a central theme, and the conservative media is promoting fear and hate. They are all sending the message that it is still okay to hate gays.
To most gay people, the word “fag” is highly offensive. This graffiti is obviously intended to be offensive to someone. If anyone does not understand that the word is an expression of hate and intolerance, then it’s time they learned. The paint on the wall is insignificant compared to the message it sends.
^bump – outstanding and so clear, I’d like to see it painted on a wall or fence. Will someone please paint this message somewhere, please for Christ’s sake.
Maybe (probably) I have weird friends, but the gay ones lovingly refer to their straight female friends as ‘fag hags’ due to their preference for hanging out with homo males. Or maybe they’re just trying to be really rude and condescending and none of us square straights get it…
I’ve become old in 3…2….1…..
If you’ve listened to some of the smack that kids talk to each other nowadays (especially in online gaming) “Fag” is actually quite tepid.
In certain geek circles what used to be known as “newbies” are now “newfags”.
The liberal usage of the word is a byproduct of America “Coming out of the closet” so to speak, just as the nullification of racial boundaries (and ethnic complexities among our youth) causes “white kids” to refer to their friends (race neutral) as “my nigga”.
Look it up, it’s true.
This just goes to show what cowards these people are. I live in Hillcrest and surprisingly, you never see such graffiti here. Ever. The kind of people who would do this kind of graffiti are too scared to show their faces and do it in an area they know would draw a lot of response.
Cockroaches like the dark.
I spent 15 minutes today trying to find this anti-gay graffiti and could not. Or more than 15 minutes, I don’t know. I must have driven up and down that alley 4 or 5 times. And either someone removed it ! (I hope) or I missed it (doubtful) or there is an error in where it’s located.
OB Rag says you are the author of this article “Will somebody paint out this anti-gay graffiti, please?”. And you don’t even know where the graffiti is located? You said it is “in the alley near Guizot Street between Saratoga and Santa Monica Avenues in Ocean Beach”. What kind of fact checking do you/OB Rag do before you publish an article? Most news outlets will not print stories till they have at least two sources, or the author knows it to be fact. Now, you have me and other people potentially wasting our time discussing something which may be photo-shopped? Are you serious? And you say there may be “an error where it is located”?!! Why don’t you ask your source? Jeeeeeez!!!!!!!
Mr. Shay, it was sent to us by a reliable source. Sorry if you feel like you’re wasting your time here, we won’t be offended if you don’t come back.
Maybe we couldn’t find it today because someone already painted over it!
This house is at the corner of Santa Monica and Guizot. I drove by today. The wall is the alley behind Santa Monica there but no graffiti.
This is an expression of free speech IMO. We all have our First Admendment rights.
You can have all the free speech you want, but not on someone elses wall.
This is NOT a First Amendment issue!!!
If one resides in OB, and finds such an expression of free speech offense, they in turn should remove it instead of just complaining.
And obviously some concerned citizen has done so.
