We have received a report that at Lindbergh Field today, Wednesday – the day before Thanksgiving and usually the busiest day at the nation’s airports – traffic was light, but there were lots of media and lots of TSA workers … everywhere.
Today was the “National Opt-Out Day” or “We Won’t Fly” Day – the focus of a campaign by social activists to encourage air travelers to decline or opt out of the scan.

Independent photo-journalist Jim Grant was at San Diego’s airport today and sent us a brief report and a series of photos:
“The TSA was really watching photographers and seemed very unclear on whether photos were actually allowed. I was told by several “no photos”, but when I pushed it they backed off.
I told them I had called ahead ( which I did ). I told them I had a contact phone number with a TSA official at the Airport ( which I do). He gave his approval for photos AS long as I did not attempt to take shots of the screen of the scanning machine.
The photo policy is VERY out of focus ( pun intended).”
Jim did run into one guy at least with a ‘protest’ t-shirt. He said he saw a couple of demonstrators, but over-all it was real quiet.
Jim told us:
“Couple of shots ….The little girl thought getting in the basket and being on the moving ramp was fun……
Older guy was getting patted down WAY away from anybody being able to see him ……”

Face it folks, it is just a different time. Whatever problem the government had with unrest and protest during the Vietnam era has been shut down. The ME generation could care less, and the few brave enough to speak out will not get any media coverage in the corporate world media. Might as well just head for the BOXCARS.
Whoa there, Old Hermit Dave. Don’t write off all us youngsters as useless drones just yet. After all, a battle is rarely won overnight. We as a generation are partially credited with the election of Obama, a former never-heard-of nobody. Yes, he may be disappointing to some with his seemingly spineless acts of tolerance toward right-wing Republicans with wrong-wing ideas, but he’s a hell of a much better choice than McCain and Palin would’ve been. Remember, the ME generation was born from the Vietnam-era protesters, so we’ve naturally got some spunk and fight in us. We’ll get this yet … just have a little faith.
Happy to see some of the “ME’S” are awake. Just wish more were and that they could help wake up the PLASTIC in their ears generation.
i like that statue a lot. when i go to the airport for a meet and greet service i just smile when i see this statue. by the chance if you are wondering where exactly this statue is, it’s at the end of terminal2 .
