About a year ago local merchants and the local OB merchants group were complaining that stores were being hit with fake hundred dollar bills. Warning were sent out to Newport businesses to be on the look-out.
Well, the mystery is over. Thirty people have just been arrested as part of a counterfeit ring – and it was partially centered here in Ocean Beach, and run by white supremacists.

At least 30 people have been charged in connection with a counterfeit cash and credit-card fraud ring that netted hundreds of thousands of dollars in a countywide crime spree that included home-invasion robberies, burglaries and trading drugs for credit information.
Dubbed “Operation Blue Ray,” the investigation broke up what District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis called “one of the most organized counterfeiting operations” ever seen in the county.
The defendants, many identified as white supremacists from Ocean Beach and El Cajon, are accused of a host of crimes, including creating fake $100 bills, committing as many as 70 robberies and burglaries, and using and possessing drugs, such as methamphetamine and heroin. The group also tapped into credit-card accounts with legitimate gift cards by re-encoding the magnetic strips on the back of the cards.

No. Are you kidding me? A criminal group in OB besides the “homeless.” I’ll be standing in line for my “Don’t Feed the Counterfeiters” sticker.

wait, wait! maybe the Black can start selling official “homeless” id cards, so they aren’t victimized by the mobs with torches and pitchforks.

The article says they were also working out of the Gas Lamp, now there is a den of iniquity! I avoid it at all costs!
Not sure what to think about your article. I talked with some folks that expressed their concerns about OB’s “whitepower” connections. If there is any need to remind you guys, there are more skinheads and nazis supporters in OB then the entire East County combined.
