Ocean Beach Town Council Is Accepting Applications for Grants

obtc_logoThe OB Town Council is now accepting applications for grants that the Council will fund for the year 2010. Through the Ocean Beach Tree Festival Committee, the OBTC provides organizations and groups an opportunity to receive funds, raised by its Annual Tree Festival.

Last year the OBTC provided over $15,000 to a wide variety of organizations.  Past Recipients include:

Loaves & Fishes

Pt. Loma HS Football Boosters

OB Historic Society

Peninsula Girls Softball

Sunset Cliffs Surfing Association

OB Planning Board

OB Community Foundation

Friends of Famosa Slew

To be considered please, submit a one page letter to grants@obtowncouncil.org or P.O Box 7225, Ocean Beach, CA 92107, describing your group/ organization, what you are planning on doing with funds and an amount you wish to be granted to be received no later than June 15, 2010. Grants are open to all, however OBTC Membership is strongly encouraged.

Recipients will be asked to provide to the OBTC, a quarterly update that will be posted to the OTBC website and if you are selected your organization will receive a one year membership to the OBTC, renewable annually.

I submitted a request in May for the 2011 year and have yet to hear if the grants had been awarded yet. I would like to know and report back to my board. Thank you.
