Dusty Rhodes Dog Park Committee Meeting

This is the second recent effort to mobilize concerned folks about the dog park. There was a small protest on May 7th attended by about a dozen locals. An attempt to get people to a Dog Park committee meeting on May 25th fizzled when, for inexplicable reasons, Park and Rec staff cancelled the meeting.

The only explanation given re the May 25th meeting was that the meeting was canceled by the city because “there was no agenda.”
I wish I had heard about this meeting earlier. Every time my wife or I drive by Dusty Rhodes Dog Park on Nimitz we just shake our heads in sad amazement at how the whole area has deteriorated and what an eyesore it has become. Dead grass. Dead trees. Random abandoned furniture scattered about. That’s our community’s “front porch.” Why does it have to look that way? Its a real shame, particularly when you have the Point Loma Association spending so much time and effort beautifying the medians along there.
Did anyone attend the meeting?
