water faucetWho else is tired of our public officials ignoring our best interests, cutting our services, going forward with their pet projects regardless of cost and our current finances and expecting us to obligingly pick up the tab?

Well, thanks to Proposition 218; (yes, one of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association propositions); we have a chance to fight the water increase planned for November 17th.

From what I understand, the reason for the rate hike is because we have done such a good job of cutting back on our water consumption; the city is trying to make up for the loss in revenue.

So I am asking you to join me in a concerted effort in preventing the hike or at least letting the powers that be know that we are out there, paying attention, aware of our rights, and willing to fight back instead of continuing to be doormats.  The city has published a pamphlet with the all details and a form to use for filing your protest, or you can use the form below. Only one protest can be filed per address and all forms must be received by November 17th so mail early! The mailing address is included on the bottom of the form.

Gail – thanks for doing this. It’s not tilting at windmills, either. It’s a long shot, but what the heck?
