SAN DIEGO, CA. Another teacher has admitted sex with students here in San Diego County. That brings the total of teachers who have been accused and/ or convicted of having sex with their students in just the last two years to ten. Yesterday, July 1, Randy Nack – a former Escondido High School art teacher pleaded guilty to several counts of unlawful sex with a minor student, and other charges.

Four of the teachers were from Helix High School, and school administrators have brought in sensitivity trainers for the employees of that school. But what about the rest? (Go here for our earlier post in May for eight of the other teachers – even though we said then “3 years” – it’s actually two years.) The tenth has been accused by officials, but not charged yet by the District Attorney. Jeff Wenham, a member of the faculty at Helix High has denied the accusations but has resigned.

What is the type of article doing on a progressive blog? Mainstream media have focused on Helix High School with a “oh my gosh” attitude but are missing the larger picture. Ten teachers in two years within the County of San Diego versus four teachers at just one school. What’s worst? We also know that sex sells. Hopefully, those who come to our blog because of this article will read the other posts.
