I wonder though about cliff diving….I was at the cliffs yesterday and took this of two guys diving head first off a famous jump spot along Sunset Cliffs – south of Ocean Beach. These guys did this about 20 times.
Now should this be deemed illegal? Is it ?? Is it enforced ?? Is it safe? I have a whole slew of questions……
What if a diver beaks his or her leg or neck or is hurt in some way : The age old question – Who’s responsible – the kid, his or her parents, the City of San Diego???
The Fire Department and San Diego Police Department drive past the spot all day. NEVER have I seen them stop or even give a comment over the loud speaker……so could they be held responsible because of neglecting the divers ?
When it it good old fun and when is it a danger and who’s responsibility is it to police the actions ?
I don’t have all the answers…but I often say ” what if” ……I guess that come from being in business and always thinking about the liability issues…..

Diving or jumping off the cliffs is illegal, but somehow that matters not to OB 20 somethings. Big surprise huh? Jumping is fun, but diving head first seems like a good way to thin out the gene pool.
Anything about 5 feet is illegal.
