We need artists and musicians to show up to these events because cultural workers raise consciousness in ways that polemics/discourse does not. It attracts positive media attention. It’s also honey that attracts bees from the same hive – we need to keep increasing our turnout to give our politicians backbone and outsize, out flank, overrun the opposition. To plug in, go to http://my.barackobama.com/ – The next event is Thursday, September 3rd, 5pm at 4th Ave and Ash St.

Victor- you are so right. The Billionaires for Wealthcare street theater energized the room last Saturday and certainly got some media attention.

The wonderful slogans that bloggers have submitted here reflect a creative spirit that is accurate and funny and I’ll certainly be using one on my sign this Thursday.

There’s a whole spectrum of artistic and cultural expression that we can be tapping into if not creating ourselves.

Victor, you should come to the Farmers Market here every Wednesday afternoon & evening, there’s plenty of artists and musicians for you to enlist.

Hi Anna. Hi Dave, Where is the Farmers Market located – there are several. Also, I was thinking of going to a next event, if there is one, dressed as a WWII death camp inmate. I wonder if there is a make up artist and costume maker anyone knows. If so, pass the idea along. I can be reached at vblcsw@juno.com. I was thinking someone accompanying me could carry a sign “Health Care is a Human Right”. I imagine standing next to anyone carrying a sign that likens President Obama or his policies to Nazism. I’m also interested in this idea being improved upon. I cannot say how offended I am by the right wing – I’d like to come up with a street theater response.
